SCBA Certified Technician I – Certified Trainer Course
This program is a two-day course designed to certify trainers to deliver the 3M Scott SCBA Technician I course. The SCBA Certified Technician I course is designed for end users who want to perform basic repairs on their equipment or for technicians as a pre-requisite to the SCBA Certified Technician II Course.
On Day 1 of the course students will review the SCBA Certified Technician I course material and perform all Hands-on activities. Day 1 will conclude with completing the SCBA Certified Technician Level I final examination.
On Day 2 students will review key adult learning concepts and will be required to present to the class an assigned subject. To obtain a SCBA Certified Technician I Trainer certificate, trainers must demonstrate competency on all hands-on activities, show their expertise with items listed in 3M Scott’s recommended operational and maintenance manual, prove they are able to consistently transfer course information to students, and pass the course assessment.

- A Registration may be required for this course. Please refer to 3M Scott Fire & Safety document STC 10006 for specific requirements and payment information.
Prerequisites
- Technicians requesting enrolment in this program must have a valid SCBA Certified Technician II Certificate with two years’ work experience as a SCBA Certified Technician II.
- Must be employed by a 3M Scott Fire & Safety Authorized Service Center (ASC), In-house Repair Center (IRC), Scott Sales Distribution Network or Scott Approved School \ Academy.
* To maintain the Certified Trainer Certification is required to maintain a valid SCBA Certified Technician II Certification.
Facility Information
- 3M Scott Fire & Safety is a tobacco and vaping free campus.
- Short pants, open toed shoes and sleeveless shirts are not permitted in the facility.
- If you wear prescription safety glasses please bring them with you to class.
