Course Benefits:

  • Working in environments that require respiratory and neck-up personal protective equipment (PPE) is tough. Workers need equipment that delivers protection from a wide range of workplace hazards and environments, such as those found in cleanrooms, factories, and healthcare. The 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) is engineered for versatility and customization, so safety managers can build the system that works for their employees. Choose from a wide range of headgear, breathing tubes and blower units to customize a PAPR solution that works for your environments. 3M supplied air respirators require a source of clean breathing air. This air can be delivered to hoods, helmets, full facepieces, half facepieces and loose-fitting facepieces. Complete systems include a supplied air hose, an air regulating valve, a breathing tube, and a helmet, hood, or other facepiece. Compressed air must be Grade D-breathable quality. 3M’s range of supplied air valves can cool or heat air by up to 50°F (28°C) and don't require filters, cartridges, or batteries.
  • A variety of instructional techniques, including discussion, photos, illustrations, and a knowledge-check activity will be used to educate course participants.
  • The curriculum will cover an introduction to 3M™ Powered and Supplied Air Respirators, how these respirator types are different, how positive pressure is different from negative pressure and some features of 3M™ Powered and Supplied Air Respirators.
